Q In this assignment, you will consider three primary sources related to the early years of the Depression Era. You will write a short essay in which you discuss the ways in which these sources reflect early reactions and responses to the Great Depression. When you are ready to start writing, open a new Word document and follow these guidelines to write your response: • Your response should be 2-3 paragraphs in length, and should meet the following criteria: o It addresses all portions of the topic or prompt. o It has a fully developed thesis. o Ideas are stated clearly and easy to understand. o Major supporting ideas are thoughtful, readily identi?able and well-developed in uni?ed paragraphs with concrete, substantial and relevant information. o It demonstrates command of language, with precise word choices, and few—if any—errors in usage or mechanics. When you’re done, submit your Word document to your instructor using the Turnitin link at the bottom of the Assignment page in Canvas. (Do not submit via the writing prompt window in MindTap.) The collapse of the U.S. economy in 1929 that sent the country into a severe decade-long depression had numerous national and international ramifications. Throughout the 1920s, the United States was heavily involved in European markets, financing loans to Germany for war reparations payments, and serving as a creditor nation. These loans dried up after the stock market crash, adding to an already precarious financial situation throughout Europe. The following sources showcase some of the early effects of the Great Depression, both nationally and internationally, first under President Herbert Hoover and then under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. In your essay response, explain how each of the primary sources reflects an early reaction to the Great Depression. How did Hoover’s inadequate responses to the financial crisis continue to impact the ways in which people experienced the Great Depression at home and abroad?

According to the first source, there had been the failure of President Hoover evident because of the ways in which the requests of the World War I veterans had been rejected completely (Montoya et al., 2017). There had not been any consideration shown by President Hoover and therefore, the veterans had also not shown any consideration while retaliating against the soldiers of the American Army. This had been an implication of the incapability of President Hoover to manage depression in the economy.
